Abstract
This paper analyzes the right to defense of legal entities, an essential topic in criminal matters, especially in jurisdictions where a legal entity is foreseen to be a potentially active subject in a criminal action. To achieve this goal, the text reviews the background that permeates such a figure; it subsequently points out the procedural guarantees to which the legal entity is entitled, to direct the discussion to the article’s specific topic: the right to defense and the challenges faced due to its application in the realm of legal entities.
