Abstract

Punitive systems and human rights. El caso de la comuna 13 de Medellín Colombia is the research conducted by Hernando León Londoño Berrío, in the PhD program in Human Rights and Development at the Pablo de Olavide University, Seville (Spain). This academic incursion deals with the concept of "Punitive Pluralism", in which the coexistence of three punitive systems is represented: the militia, the paramilitary and the state. This representation is made visible in a paradigmatic geopolitical space of urban war territoriality: the Comuna 13 of Medellin (Colombia) and it is discussed in a period of time (2000 to 2010) in which there is very sensitive evidence of the atrocities of the Colombian armed conflict.
