He holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (1966), a Doctorate in Law from the Université de Neuchâtel (1971), a scholarship from the Swiss Confederation-Université de Neuchâtel (1967-1971) and a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
