About the Journal
Autocratization Research Journal (ISSN: 3115-2120) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal launched in January 2026 with the aim of highlighting and disseminating the analytical and reflective work carried out by researchers and faculty members interested in the processes of autocratization and authoritarianism in Latin America.
The journal operates from an interdisciplinary perspective, driven by the Cuba Program research group, inviting students, professionals, and renowned scholars in the fields of politics, international relations, history, law, and other related disciplines to participate in the debate on democratic systems and the defense of human rights by writing articles, interviews, and reviews in English [main language], Spanish, and Portuguese.
The journal is published in Bogotá D.C., Colombia, and follows an open-access policy along with the use of Creative Commons licenses, ensuring free and open access to its publications. It also promotes the principles of transparency and academic plurality. The publication system includes long-term digital preservation mechanisms through LOCKSS and CLOCKSS.
