Ver Vol. 1 Núm. 1 (2026): The authoritarian turn of left-wing governments in Latin America: Faces, Discourses and Power Dynamics

The first issue of the journal Autocratization, titled “The Authoritarian Turn of Left-wing Governments in Latin America: Faces, Discourses and Power Dynamics”, seeks to provide a timely and reflective analysis of recent political transformations in the region and around the world, examining the dynamics through which self-proclaimed left-wing governments have entrenched themselves in power, reconfigured democratic institutions, and reformulated their discourses of legitimation. The issue includes research articles, reviews, interviews with internationally, nationally, and locally recognized scholars in the field, theoretical approaches, and student analyses that make it possible to identify both the similarities and particularities of left-wing regimes and governments undergoing processes of autocratization in the region and within the broader global landscape.
