Abstract

A society which, in the course of its (technical) progress, generates multiple dangers for itself must, in return, develop instruments of social control that provide it with security. To this end, criminal law is also increasingly being used, but it cannot perform this task without curtailing or even renouncing essential elements of the most basic liberal rule of law.
