Abstract

Women still do not have real access to power and to the public agenda in Nicaragua, leaving in evidence the weakness of descriptive and substantive representation. This article presents an approximation of how formal representation, manifested in figures, has served as an instrument to hide the problems of women's access to power and the public agenda in Nicaragua, making evident the weakness of descriptive and substantive representation.
