Abstract

Only twice in my life have I had the following experience: I tell him how difficult life is inside Cuba and he replies that it is due to "the economic blockade". One of those times was at the Book Fair. It all started when a woman in her fifties or sixties approached the stand, she was looking at the map on the screen about the hunger index in Cuba. I approached her to ask her if she was interested in Cuba, she said yes. She told me about her wonderful experiences on the island, how she enjoyed it like no one else there, and that she had never met such kind and charming people. I gave in with my head and made conversation because she seemed happy to talk about Cuba, until finally she wanted to know who we were and what we were doing.
