And now... who will be able to defend us?

Abstract

A frequent question among citizens, especially in authoritarian contexts, is who can defend them against the systematic violation of their rights and why organizations such as the United Nations or the Organization of American States "seem" to do nothing in the face of serious violations of Human Rights (HR). In this sense, these lines are presented as an approach to the functioning of these organizations, their competencies in the protection of human rights in order to have expectations much closer to reality and to make a special call on the Universal Periodic Review.
