Abstract

Festivals in Cuba are an expression of cultural colonization that allow to evidence the oppression of the regime and the emancipation of civil society. The coming to power of Miguel Diaz - Canel in 2019 and his appointment to the position of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) in 2021 has dealt a severe blow to freedom and fun. The regime and President Miguel Diaz - Canel have intensified and motivated the fight against U.S. cultural colonization through the proclamation of incitement speeches and disapproval of pagan celebrations.
