Abstract

Since the establishment of a communist regime in Cuba, the idea of being able to celebrate outside the ideas of the revolution has been persecuted, this includes celebrations of different religions practiced on the island, specifically the profession of a faith that opposes the repression of the dictatorship. The ideology brought by Fidel Castro in 1959 was founded under an atheistic base that for many years carried out a prohibition and dismantling of religious institutions in the country; this incursion had its peak in 1960 and 1961 in which the Castro government was dedicated to persecute religious opposition movements at the time (Martí News, 2017).
