Abstract
Jean Paul-Sartre was a reference for the world revolutionary left. His debate with Albert Camus, in 1952, evidenced a particular attitude and an intellectual method to confront divergent ideas with his thinking. This phenomenon that I call, decades later, the "Sartre Effect" is repeated by the defenders of authoritarian leftist projects Latin America. This double standard has characterized the gaze of different progressive sectors about Venezuelan crisis. In order to get out of the inertia of the conflict for the sake of the democratic reconstruction of this Latin American country, I propose an approach in which principles are emphasized, and ideologies are invited to be considered as a "toolbox".
