Local development and its means of socialization in Cuba: Reflection on specialized scientific journals

Abstract

The publication in magazines is constituted as a necessity and a legitimizing practice of researchers, paradigms and ideological positions. Local development and its scientific production are of vital importance within the processes of scientific socialization where the model to follow are mainstream journals. This aspect puts national magazines in Latin America and the Caribbean at a disadvantage, where Cuba is inserted with a particular development paradigm. The objective was: to identify the magazines specialized in local development in Cuba and their main characteristics. The main method used was the bibliometric that favored reflection on the status and positioning of Cuban magazines on local development.
