Documents allowed

For publication indexing purposes, the following documents are received:

  1. Article result of research project.
  2. Article of reflection: It presents research results from analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author on a specific topic.
  3. Review articles, It is defined by Colciencias as the one that systematizes and analyzes the results of published or unpublished research on a field of knowledge
  4. High impact articles that are translated into Spanish.
  5. Book reviews research results.

Reponse times

The estimation of the times related to the receipt, evaluation, edition and publication of document is decribed in the arbitration process.

Bear in mind

The authors must meet with following characteristics in their manuscripts_

  • All research paper proposed to publish have been original and unpublished, unless they are translated from be a high impact article
  • The article that is received by Foro Cubano Journal must NOT be proposed for other journal at same time.
  • Since January 2020, the authors must propose their manuscripts through OJS (Open Journal System) in the next link: /submissions/
  • The author must sign a letter of originality and send by scaner

Publication frequency

Each year, The Foro Cubano Journal publishes two numbers (January-June and July-December)

Publication cost

Taking into account the editorial policy about the open access, the Foro Cubano Journal doesn´t earn money of the authors by assessment or publication of the articles. Every numbers are available to consult in open access and you can check on OJS (Open Journal System).

Formal aspects of the manuscripts

The manuscripts can´t be longer than 20 pages in letter size, doble space with margin of 3 cm, font times 12 and drafted rules for APA International version 6° (American Psychological Association). The document must have:

 The document title must have the main idea of the article in spanish or English

  1. The author’s name and the institution where the article was wrotten.
  2. It must indicate the name of research project of which the article was created and the organization who finances it.
  3. The abstract mustn´t be longer than 120 words and It must have the content of article and It must translate to Spanish (Resumen). Its structure must have the following information:
    1. Prove the important of the research.
    2. Establish the objective of the research.
    3. Describe the method and the materials of the study.
    4. Present the main results and conclutions.
    5. Statement of utility and importance of the results achieved.
    6. Do not add the recommendations, tables and references.
  4. In the end of the abstract in english and the end of the resumen in Spanish must have the keywords and they mustn´t be more than six. They must have the idea about the topics that they are in the article. Those words have to be ordered the major to minor relevance.
  5. The body of research paper must have:

    1. Introduction: General aspects of the topic addressed and the result obtained.
    2. Research problem and methodology: Problem posing of research and synthesis of the methodological approach; type of research; processes; techniques and strategies used for collection and analysis of the information.
    3. Content: The presentation of resulting of research and the debate about them.
    4. Conclusion.
    5. References
  6. The body of reflection article must have:
    1. Introduction: General aspects of the topic addressed, the authors’ position and the objetive of reflection
    2. Reflection: To give coherence to reflection you can use subtitles.
    3. Conclusions: Confirm her/his reflection, present the limitations and give contribution to new researchs.
  7. Figures and tables. They must insert on text and they must number, taking into account the order of presentation and its respective title. They must be quoted, In the grafics the axes must be marked.
  8. The imagines must be sent in jpg, tiff format or photoshop of 300 pixels.
  9. Must send the origninal archives of tables and grafics on Excel or pdf with high resolution.
  10. The extention of the articles mustn’t be longer than 9.000 words and It must incluid the title, abstract, keywords and footnote.
  11. The review mustn´t be longer than 1.000 words.

References

In the last part of the manuscript must have a list in alphabetical order taking into account the international rules APA http://www.apastyle.org and It will be had to check that cite coincides with the text.

The referencies of cites in the text, the method that the author has to quote (last name and year of publication) lets to reader finds the reference in the list en the last part of the article. When the last name is part of text, You only add the year of publication of article between brackets.

If you must quote multiple authors, It must quoted all of them at first time, but in the next quote It is only quoted the first and adds “et al”.( Without quotation marks) and the year of the publication. If you only have to quote two authors, you must quote both every time.

In the final text, care should be taken with the specifications in the international ruls APA 7th version. Check http://www.apastyle.org

The Arbitration process

When the manuscript is received by the Journal, It will acknowledge receipt at same that time starts the process of manuscript review

If the article is accepted by Editorial Team, the document is analyzed through a program  of plagiarism detection with the idea to knowing the originality level of manuscript

if the article doesn´t have any issue, the next phase is the assessment with anonymus peers, they will receive the document and should complete a assess format with time limit of 3 months. If the peers have diferent opinions about the article, the manuscript will be reviewed by a third blind peer, thus the limit time of assessment would extend. The Editorial Team will let know to authors taking into account the times.

The Editorial Team will make decision taking into account the assessments and will decide to publish the manuscript, If the Editorial Team give the document back to author, He/She must correct taking into account the peers´ observations, also The Editorial Team could reject the document. The Editorial Team inform the author of the procedure to be followed within next 8 days since the document reception

The author has two weeks for correct the manuscript taking into account the peers’ obsevations and send again. After the author send the new version of document, the Editorial Team will check the corrections within two weeks then make a decision about the article publication.

After, it will be sent to the printer, who will have the right to make formal changes in design, spelling and style neccesary to adapte the text to publish taking into account the regulations.
