Abstract

Colombia faced an internal armed conflict for more than 53 years, so the majority affected is civil society; currently there is an agreement agreed upon as a result of a peace process. The situation of ignorance of the democratic and constitutional principles that support the Colombian State had a great incidence as a factor of conflict, so it is necessary to analyze the role that will have the teaching of these in the construction of democracy in postconflict. In the present paper, we propose to study the public policies of education for democracy in order to demonstrate how the teaching of democracy and the Constitution for the formation of citizenships for peace in postconflict zones is developed. In this order it is pertinent to follow the process of institutionalization of the culture of peace in areas directly affected by the conflict to assess the impact on the formation of a new democratic citizenship; one of the instruments established for this purpose is the Chair of Peace.
