Abstract

Following the issuance of new regulations on abortion in Spain, this study examines the legal right to life, to which end it addresses topics such as the non-existence of the supreme value of life, the non-ownership of any right by the unborn child, the need to take into account the dignity and freedom of women, among others, notwithstanding which the author considers that the object of protection is the demographic interest of society. In addition, he explores the different types of this punishable conduct and the different assumptions of decriminalization, in light of the new design adopted by the Hispanic legislator.
