The Pandemic in Cuba: History of a health disaster.

Abstract

Cuba faced the Pandemic with draconian measures of social isolation, similar to those of the People's Republic of China. The highest echelons of the State preferred to devote the country's scarce resources to the development of vaccines, while completely neglecting the acquisition of basic medicines for the treatment of the disease, such as anti-inflammatory or antipyretic drugs. The State's management put all its efforts into containing viral circulation until a national vaccine was available in sufficient quantity to immunize the entire country.
