Abstract

In 1952, the Nationalist Revolutionary Movement (MNR) came to power in Bolivia, thus initiating the Bolivian Revolution - also called the National Revolution - and overthrowing the Military Junta that had been in power for a year. This is how the movement arrived with the objective of making changes and modifications to the structure as a whole, from a reformist perspective, seeking economic and social modernization (Mansilla, 1980); these reforms that were carried out from 1952 onwards have had a permanent impact on the political, economic and social history of Bolivia.
