Angola and the ghosts of racism in Cuba
Abstract
From its beginnings, the Cuban Revolution implemented several policies aimed at reducing racial inequality, considered, at the time, a remnant of the neocolonial past. This led Fidel Castro to state in 1966 that "discrimination disappeared when class problems disappeared and it had not cost the country much to solve this problem".
