Monetary and exchange rate unification in Cuba: social norms and effects

Abstract

The process of "Monetary Ordering" could have important social effects. According to the author, in the short term these could be inflation, unemployment, and substantial reduction of purchasing power, however, in the long term the effects could be positive provided that the necessary rules are complied with.
