Exporting the revolution as a survival strategy
Abstract
Cuba's influence in Latin America until the first half of the 20th century was associated, fundamentally, with the expansion of the island's cultural production, especially music. Only after the revolutionary triumph of 1959, Cuba became a model for those who saw in the process led by Fidel Castro a formula to reach power through an alternative way to the ballot box.
