Castro, the hand that guards Miraflores
Abstract
February 1992, a failed military coup opens the door to a new Cold War in Latin America. In Caracas, the idealistic Colonel Hugo Chavez attempts to storm the Miraflores Palace to overthrow President Carlos Andres Perez. His military movement clamors for a transformation of the democratic system which, due to the oil bonanza, has been corrupted to scandalous levels. Simultaneously, in Havana and Washington, two intelligence agents suddenly wake up to the unexpected announcement of a new mission: to be the enforcement arm of their governments in the country with the largest oil reserves in the world.
