Cuba: public debate and political context. Untying knots

Abstract

A recent text (Hernández, 2019), published in Temas magazine, lists a set of theses regarding the state of civic-political debate and reality in Cuba today. Before exposing them, the essayist highlights that "frequently, political analysis is replaced by the direction that politics could or should have taken, according to each one". A criterion with which I agree, particularly with regard to the political opinion texts that swarm in the insular public cyberspace.
