Reflexiones sobre la violencia contra las mujeres y la garantía de derechos en contexto autoritarios

Abstract

Despite the progress made on paper, as evidenced in the records of the "Global Database on Violence against Women", the figures on physical, sexual, and psychological violence show that we are still far from these guarantees. It should also be remembered that the instruments related to the guarantee of women's rights have also pointed out the role played by the States and that this type of violence is not a private sphere and it is the State institutions that are responsible for protecting women and girls under any circumstances. Paradoxically, political movements whose discourse was based on social demands made use of the struggles of different population groups to subjugate them to their own agenda.
