Néstor Díaz de Villegas Machado: Ideological "diversionism" as a threat to criminalize students in Cuba

Abstract

In 1972 Néstor Díaz de Villegas Machado was in his third year at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts when he was expelled, along with other fellow students, in circumstances that indicated the political nature of the measure. Shortly thereafter he would also be separated from pre-university education, this time he would go directly from the educational system to the penitentiary system.
