Abstract

On March 26, 2023, elections will be held in Cuba to elect the deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power. This electoral cycle should be understood as a process of political ratification of the parliamentarians proposed (by the Communist Party and other power strata within the regime) to occupy a seat in the legislative body, in a country where laws are passed unanimously and the Party has a supra-constitutional character (Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, 2019). It is voted, but not elected.
