The queues of hunger and the unhappiness of a people

Abstract

The official discourse in Cuba presents the Cuban people as an example of dignity, resistance and pride. The official press has affirmed that "Cuba is the country with the best sustainable development in the world". [1] For their part, the descriptions of every tourist returning from the island agree that Cubans are friendly, open and jaranero. European and North American academies are interested in the successful schemes shown by the Cuban government to achieve food sovereignty. So, are the Cuban people a satisfied and happy people?
