Challenges and Implications for Democracy: New Free Speech Formats in X
Abstract
Social networks established a different way of understanding and sharing the world with others. Reinterpreting the human condition as social and political beings (Arendt, 2018), networks shaped from immediacy and hyperproduction of content (being faithful to their capitalist nature) the forms of socialization and approval. In this way diluting the distinction between public and private sphere, they were finding generational niches and adapting their tools for greater diffusion and presence in people and spaces.
