Tango Feroz and Simon: Resistance in authoritarian contexts.
Abstract
Tango feroz takes place between the 1960s and 1970s, a period permeated by political and social conflicts in Argentina; to enter in context, Argentina suffered several coups that would lead the country to experience a transition to military governments, this whole situation began with the overthrow of Arturo Frondizi, he assumed the presidency in 1958 after winning the presidential elections with the party Radical Civic Union Intransigente (UCRI), Frondizi's policy was to modernize the Argentine economy, this through foreign investment and exploitation of natural resources; These policies were rejected by the opposition and opposition sectors, given his links to Peronism and the issue of foreign investment. With the passage of time, and the implementation of his policies, generated great resistance within civil society and the military forces, which led to the deterioration of relations between the executive and the armed forces, which led to this overthrow were the provincial elections since in these won by Peronism, so that the triumph led to a joint concern between the military and anti-Peronist sectors. As a result, on March 29, Frondizi was arrested by the military forces, leading him to resign from his position and being replaced by the president of the Senate José María Guido. This coup d'état was one of several coups that gave rise to the political instability that characterized the nation, and began a period of military dictatorships that came with repression against social and cultural movements, and like any regime began by censoring any form of political, social and cultural opposition.
