Abstract

The available data allows us to affirm with certainty that Cuba is experiencing a deep, prolonged, and structural economic crisis. Among the most relevant indicators are: a significant drop in GDP over the last five years; a fiscal deficit that has remained above 10% of GDP; persistent triple-digit inflation since 2021; the collapse of real wages; and a continued contraction in exports of goods and services since 2015. Added to this is the collapse of the electricity system and the systematic deterioration of key sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing, with ten consecutive years of productive decline.
