Democracy's insufficiency to guarantee human rights

Abstract

Colombia like many nations has gone through different forms of government; in 1991 with the change of Constitution a model called Social and Democratic State of Law was established, which seeks the legal and material protection of Human Rights. However, it is public knowledge that the country has gone through several decades of constant violence, which involves and has harmed all actors of Colombian society.
