“I decided that I had given Cuba other things but that I could not give Nina” Interview with Marta María Ramírez
Abstract
Marta María Ramírez is an autonomous Cuban feminist activist who from her exile in Spain continues to fight and speak out openly against the Cuban totalitarian patriarchal regime. Her struggle has focused on accompanying women and LGBTIQ+ people who are victims of sexist, misogynist, homophobic and transphobic State violence. In addition, from her role as a mother, she has managed to make visible issues related to desired motherhood and obstetric violence. In particular, this interview is made in relation to the phenomenon of migration in Cuba and from her experience as an exile and accompanying person.
