Abstract

The advancement of Information and Communication Technologies has allowed the stay of new tools in the virtual environment, particularly in social networks. These tools find representation due to the existence of open spaces for communication and interaction, typical of contemporary democracies. The growing participation of the number of users in social networks has brought inevitable repercussions on the exercise of some human rights. The presentation will be directed towards the dissertation of the challenges that the exercise of freedom of expression currently represents in social networks and the implications of this for democratic systems, the above to prevent that, in modern democracies, the guarantee of human rights of freedom of expression, and the recognition of its cybernetic facet, has an intimate relationship with the most complete concept of democracy.
