Cuban cinema, out of "Cine Cubano".

Abstract

It should be no secret that, in Cuba, tensions between artists and politicians have been growing. However, one delves into the history of this piece of land anchored in the middle of the Atlantic to discover that these tensions have been dragging on since colonial times, but with certain nuances. Surely this commentary provokes the same question I asked myself when I read The Novel of My Life, by Cuban writer Leonardo Padura. The life of the romantic poet José María Heredia, leads me to question, what did the Cuban Revolution do differently? Why was it a goal in all aspects, including culture? I would then have to thank Fidel Castro for having freed us from the republic, only to return us to Spanish colonialism.
