Abstract

Throughout Latin America's recent history, humanitarian crises resulting from large population movements in search of better opportunities have been a constant. An emblematic example is the Venezuelan migration crisis, with more than 8 million people forced to leave their country due to the economic and political crisis caused by an authoritarian regime in place for more than two decades.
