News of weak exceptionalism: Authoritarian signs in the Bolivarian revolution

Abstract

Until now, the reading by critical writers and intellectuals of capitalism about the Venezuelan revolution has focused on the last years of the process, highlighting the figure of Nicolás Maduro. However, during the first years of Hugo Chávez's government there were clear signs of his autocratic advance. The following work approaches some of these elements to elucidate the form of exceptionalism that existed, considering at the same time the intellectual lines that supported this modality of decision-making power for a time.
