In academic publications, the concept of an author is broader than in literary works. That is, an author of an academic article is considered to be someone who has made a significant intellectual contribution during the research, not just the person who wrote the manuscript or processed the data. Therefore, it can sometimes be challenging to appropriately attribute credit to each individual involved in the research.
Revista Civilizar: Ciencias Sociales y Humanas considers an author to be someone who has made a substantial contribution to the writing of the text and the development of the study, the design of the methodology, or a relevant technical contribution. Thus, the journal will recognize as authors those who, from the submission of a manuscript, sign the conflict of interest statement and the copyright transfer agreement. The order of appearance of the authors will be as reported by them from the submission of the manuscript; therefore, the journal will not include other individuals as authors during the editorial process. During the layout stage, the order of appearance of the authors can be changed (at the request of one or more authors), provided that all authors agree and there is a reasonable justification for the change. This request must be made with a formal signed communication (either digitally or handwritten).
