Resumen

El artículo presenta los resultados del análisis de las estrategias cognitivas utilizadas por jóvenes egresados de licenciatura en su búsqueda de empleo. Estos hallazgos forman parte de una investigación más amplia cuyo objetivo es explicar las distintas formas en que los egresados universitarios afrontan la transición de la universidad al mercado laboral, haciendo hincapié en las habilidades sociocognitivas. El fenómeno de la transición implica investigar tanto las prácticas como las estrategias cognitivas y sociales utilizadas por los egresados. Para realizar el análisis, se recopilaron las narrativas de los jóvenes desde el momento en que se gradúan hasta los primeros años posteriores, cuando se produce su inserción en el mercado laboral. En  este sentido, se analizan las narrativas relacionadas con la inserción, la permanencia y la separación de los puestos de trabajo. Las narrativas de afrontamiento se definen como las descripciones discursivas utilizadas por los egresados universitarios para expresar cómo enfrentan un proceso de transición profesional y personal. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación, se utilizaron entrevistas semi estructuradas y entrevistas en profundidad desde un enfoque cualitativo. Se parte del supuesto de que la recuperación de información a través del discurso facilita la generación de diversas líneas de análisis y la emergencia de diferentes sistemas de categorías basados en la información obtenida.
